Please Note:

  • Print quilt backs that are sewn together will not be print matched. Any special requests must be stated at the time of dropping off the quilt to be quilted.
  • Batting must be purchased in the store with a 25% discount. Outside batting will no longer be accepted. 
  • Backing needs to be 5" larger than the quilt top on all sides.
  • Backing purchased in the shop the day of dropping off the quilt to be quilted will receive a 25% discount on the backing.
  • Thread must be purchased from Pohlar Fabrics if purchased at the time of quilt drop off to receive a 25% discount on the thread.
  • We offer binding and hemming services for an extra charge.
  • Turn around time is 8-16 weeks!
  • If needing your quilt back before the standard turn around, we can add a rush fee and you will receive your quilt by the date requested at the time of drop off.  Rush fee is $50 paid at the time of quilt drop-off.

Pohlar Fabrics Machine Quilting Policies

Effective May 1, 2023

 

  • The maximum size of the quilt is 126" wide x 130" long.
  • Backing and batting must extend 5" beyond the quilt top in all directions.
  • Pohlar Fabrics is not responsible for folds, tucks, pleats, fullness, and skewed corners on the quilt due to fullness in seams, blocks, and borders. We will do our best to avoid any of these, but this may still happen. 
  • Bed sheets will not be accepted for backs.
  • If piecing backing, please leave ALL salvages on the fabric.
  • The backing should have as few seams as possible; ideally, one seam is preferred.
  • The quilt and back must be clean and free of odors and pet hair.
  • We will not cut or trim your quilt top.
  • The top should be pressed, and any long threads should be clipped.
  • Finished Quilts should be picked up within 30 days of notification; otherwise, a $ 5 monthly carrying fee will be incurred.
  • If we put a Hem or Binding on your quilt, please note the following:
    • Hemming and Binding are done by machine.  The binding will be machine-stitched on the back and topstitched on the front.  A Hem will be topstitched on the front.
    • Up to 2 lines of stitching may show on the back.
    • We are human, and lines are not straight!

Cut off Date to have quilts quilted for Christmas is September 1st!
Any quilts taken in after that date will be done with the time allowed.
